Asante Kotoko Designates Green Seating Area for Away Fans at Baba Yara Stadium
Asante Kotoko SC has officially designated the green seating section at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium exclusively for visiting supporters, in line with the Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols set by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
In a statement released on February 26, 2025, the club reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all stakeholders attending their home matches.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to safety and security, we also announce that the green seating section at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium has now been designated exclusively for visiting supporters (away team fans),” the statement read.
The club emphasized that this move is aimed at proper segregation of spectators to enhance security on matchdays and reduce potential incidents between home and away fans.
Additionally, Kotoko confirmed that they have appointed a Club Safety and Security Officer (CSSO) and a Liaison Officer responsible for overseeing safety operations on matchdays. These officers will work closely with the Regional Sports Security Officer to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
This latest development is part of broader efforts to implement strict security measures following recent concerns over hooliganism and fan violence in the Ghanaian top flight.
