Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has taken steps to enhance the experience of Ghanaian supporters travelling to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, holding high-level discussions with Marty Small Sr., Mayor of Atlantic City.

The engagement, led by the Asamoah Gyan Foundation, focused on establishing structured support systems for fans expected to journey to the United States for the global tournament.

As part of the visit, Gyan presented one of his iconic No. 3 jerseys to the Mayor, symbolising the growing collaboration. He was accompanied by his manager Samuel Anim Addo, CEO of AGF/Goldstar Consult Ltd, and Anita Barakat, CEO of Rediscover Africa.

Key areas of discussion included accommodation, transportation logistics, safety measures, and general welfare support for Ghanaian fans during the tournament. The initiative aims to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for supporters traveling from Ghana and across the diaspora.

Beyond fan welfare, the meeting also explored broader opportunities in sports tourism, cultural exchange, and business partnerships, highlighting the potential for stronger ties between Ghana, Africa, and the United States.

The effort forms part of a wider vision to leverage football as a bridge for international collaboration while promoting Ghana’s presence on the global stage.

At the tournament, the Ghana national football team will compete in a challenging group alongside Panama, England and Croatia, with fans expected to play a crucial role in backing the team throughout the competition.
