Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo has been voted AFC Bournemouth’s Player of the Month for August after a blistering start to the new Premier League season.

The 25-year-old striker registered two goals and one assist across three matches, edging past his teammates in a fan poll sponsored by Michael Matthews Jewellers. This marks the second time in his Bournemouth career that supporters have handed him the accolade, having also claimed it in the opening month of the previous campaign.

Semenyo hit the ground running with a stunning brace in the dramatic 3-3 draw against Liverpool, before setting up the decisive winner in the 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. He was equally influential in Bournemouth’s triumph at Tottenham Hotspur, underlining his importance to Andoni Iraola’s side.

His sparkling form did not go unnoticed, as he earned nominations for both the Premier League Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards. The Ghana international has carried that momentum into September, adding another goal and an assist in the Cherries’ win against Brighton after returning from international duty.

Semenyo, who recently committed his future to the club by signing a contract extension at the Vitality Stadium, continues to attract attention from several English and European sides.

Bournemouth are now preparing for their next challenge when they host Newcastle United at home on Sunday.
