Ghanaian outfit, Kumasi King Faisal is in Switzerland at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) department over the issues surrounding their demotion to the lower-tier club.

It has been confirmed by Communication director of the side, Awal Mohammed their intention to appeal the decision of Ghana Football Association (GFA) dismissing their protest, and solidifying their demotion to Division One League next season.

The Insha Allah Boys had their protest filed against the decision/ruling of GFA Disciplinary Committee on case with Tamale City FC over double player registration dismissed after the 2022-23 league season.

King Faisal FC filed protest against Tamale City FC, alleging that Isaac Mensah/Jireh Kojo Nissi has been registered twice in the same season but with different names. In the said game, played in May at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium saw Tamale City FC wallop King Faisal FC 4-1 of which, the player in question Isaac Mensah/Jireh Kojo Nissi played.

The Disciplinary Committee after sitting on the case, ruled that Isaac Mensah is the same person with Jireh Kojo Nissi, however, was registered with different numbers same season. And that, the record should be expunged from the books of Ghana Football Association(GFA).

The potential three points could have significantly boosted King Faisal chances of avoiding relegation but suffered following the ruling and dismissal of appeal.

King Faisal FC’s hopes of overturning their relegation from the Ghana Premier League were shattered as GFA dismissed their protest to challenge the outcome of their match against Tamale City FC.

According to King Fiasal’s spokesperson, Awal Mohammed, the club has petitioned the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) with the hope of overturning the ruling by the GFA Disciplinary Committee to be relegated to Division One.

Disclosing that, his outfit has presented all the necessary documents to CAS who have acknowledged their protest and written to Ghana’s FA to respond within 21 days.

Meanwhile, Nkrataasem.com can report that King Faisal has also requested CAS to withheld the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League from commencing till finality of the case is arrived.
