Ghana’s U15 girls football team has stormed into the semi-finals of the ongoing CAF African Schools Championship, thanks to an emphatic 2-0 victory over Benin on Thursday at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.

The result, Ghana’s second straight win in the tournament, secures their place in the last four with a game to spare in the group stage. The young team is scheduled to complete their group duties later on Thursday with a clash against Malawi.

The team began their campaign on a strong note, edging out Morocco 1-0 in a tightly contested opener. Their performance against Benin, however, was even more dominant. The Ghanaian side showcased fluid passing, sharp movement, and tactical discipline to outclass their West African counterparts.

The girls’ qualification to the semi-finals parallels the achievement of Ghana’s U15 boys team, who also sealed their spot in the semi-finals earlier this week after registering back-to-back victories.

As the CAF African Schools Championship progresses, local fans will be hopeful that both Ghanaian teams can maintain their momentum and contend for top honours in this prestigious continental youth event.
