Head coach of Aduana Football Club, Cioba Aristica, has praised his side’s mentality and fighting spirit following a commanding 2-0 win over Accra Hearts of Oak in a rescheduled Ghana Premier League Week 22 clash.

The match, played on Wednesday afternoon at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa, saw the home side assert their dominance with a goal in each half to secure all three points.

Aduana’s captain, Sam Adams, opened the scoring in the 31st minute with a composed finish after a spell of pressure from the hosts. Despite efforts from the Phobians to find a way back into the game, Aduana held firm, and substitute Abdel Latif Bamba sealed the victory with a well-taken goal in the 88th minute, moments after coming off the bench.

Reacting to the win, Coach Cioba Aristica lauded the attitude of his players, particularly in bouncing back from their recent setback against Karela United.

“I will congratulate my players for their performance. We came to this game with a different mentality after defeat to Karela United. I like the team spirit. Both teams played well but Aduana FC emerged victorious,” he said.

The win lifts Aduana FC to 11th on the Ghana Premier League standings with 35 points, while Hearts of Oak drop to 7th with 41 points after 28 matches.

Aduana will hope to build on this result as they continue their campaign in the domestic top flight. Hearts, meanwhile, must regroup quickly ahead of their next fixture, as they aim to remain in contention for a top-four finish.
