Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 Pink Ladies Cup have suffered a setback following confirmation that forward Abigail Kim will not feature in the four-nation tournament due to injury.

The Black Queens announced that the attacker failed to report to camp after picking up an injury, ruling her out of the competition.

Kim had originally been included in head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren’s 26-player squad for the tournament, which forms part of Ghana’s build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Neom SC forward was recently involved with the national team during the last international window, where she made a substitute appearance in Ghana’s defeat to England.

Her withdrawal leaves the technical team with 25 players currently in camp as they fine-tune preparations for their opening fixture against Hong Kong on Saturday.

Beyond the Hong Kong clash, Ghana are scheduled to face Russia and Tanzania as they continue their Pink Ladies Cup campaign, using the matches to sharpen tactics and assess squad depth ahead of the continental tournament.
