Abedi Pele Hails Black Galaxies Ahead of CHAN Qualifiers Against Nigeria
Ghana football legend Abedi Ayew Pele has expressed confidence in the Black Galaxies as they gear up for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria later this month.
The Galaxies secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Abedi Pele’s Nania FC. They followed it up with an emphatic 5-0 win against second-tier side Northern City at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
After the friendly against his team, Abedi Pele praised the Galaxies for their strength and tactical discipline, offering words of encouragement ahead of their crucial games.
“It has been a pleasure for me to have this honor to play against you today. What I have discovered is that you have a strong team—physically strong and technically wonderful. For me, the future of Ghana football is in the making.”
He continued, “When you are born in this country and you are playing for the national team, the bond, the hunger to succeed, the courage, the determination—it’s paramount. You try to do your possible best, and that’s what I’m seeing now. Not only are you physically strong but tactically well-organized.”
Ghana will host Nigeria in the first leg of the qualifiers on December 22 at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to Uyo for the return fixture at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on December 28.
The winner of the tie will book a ticket to the 2025 CHAN tournament, set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from February 1 to 28.
