Abdul Karim Zito Kabutey has resigned from his position as head coach of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, with the club confirming his departure with immediate effect.

In an official statement, Kotoko’s management acknowledged receipt of the resignation and expressed gratitude to the former coach for his commitment and contributions during his time in charge. The club also extended its best wishes to Zito in his future endeavours.

Zito’s exit comes after a challenging period for the Porcupine Warriors, marked by mixed results in the Ghana Premier League and an exit from the MTN FA Cup, which had intensified pressure on the technical bench.

Asante Kotoko indicated that details regarding the club’s new technical direction and interim arrangements will be communicated in due course, as the hierarchy begins the process of restructuring the coaching setup.

The club now shifts focus to stabilising the team and maintaining competitiveness in the ongoing season while supporters await clarity on the next phase of Kotoko’s technical leadership.

The team will also lock horns with Accra Hearts of Oak this weekend.
