WAFU Zone B U20 Tournament: Ghana’s Afriyie wins top scorer award
Ghana Black Satellites attacker, Jerry Afriyie has won the goal king award in the just ended WAFU B U20 Championship in Togo.
The Black Satellites finished second in the tournament after losing 2-1 to their bitterest rivals, Nigeria in the final of the tournament.
However, Ghana’s marksman, Afriyie won the most prestigious individual award slated for the player with the most goals at the end of the tournament. Jerry Afriyie bagged in five goals in five games for the former World U20 Champions.
His final goal came against Nigeria in the finals as a consolation goal for Ghana. The Thought Football Club striker was exceptional during the tournament as he displayed mouthwatering performances which also propelled Ghana to finish second in the competition.
The Black Satellites have qualified for the 2025 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations after reaching the finals of the tournament.
