The much-anticipated clash is scheduled to kick off today, Thursday, July 10, at 15:00 GMT at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The match headlines Group A, which also includes Benin, in what is expected to be a fiercely contested battle for semi-final qualification.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Coach Ofei stressed the importance of starting on a strong note and acknowledged the challenge posed by the Nigerian side.
“The first game against Nigeria will set the tone of how this tournament will go,” Ofei declared. “But we are ready. We know how good they are and we know how incredibly hungry they are as a squad. But we will be ready for them on Thursday.”
With home advantage and months of rigorous preparation behind them, expectations are high for Ghana to begin their campaign on a positive note. Coach Ofei, who has shaped a young and disciplined squad, remains confident in his team’s ability to deliver under pressure.
“This is our home, and the support of Ghanaians will be crucial,” he appealed. “We want to begin this campaign on a high note, and the energy from our supporters can inspire the boys to give their all.”
