West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B President, Kurt Okraku, has reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to youth football development, announcing plans to host at least five competitions for boys and girls in 2025.

Speaking at the CAF Zonal WAFU B meeting in Cairo, Okraku underscored the importance of these tournaments in fostering young talent and strengthening football across the sub-region.

“This year, we are committed to organizing at least five youth competitions (boys and girls), which will not only enhance the competitive spirit among our Member Associations but also provide valuable opportunities for talent development,” he stated.

Okraku highlighted that WAFU B’s vision aligns with that of CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, who has prioritized the expansion and transformation of African football. He expressed confidence that with the right leadership and structures in place, the sub-region will continue to grow and make an impact on the continent.

WAFU B, which consists of Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Benin, Niger, and Togo, has been working to elevate the quality and visibility of its competitions.

The sub-regional body remains committed to fostering collaboration among its member associations to accelerate football development and create more competitive opportunities for young players.
