Tom Saintfeit Hints at Future Interest in Black Stars Job
Mali head coach Tom Saintfeit has revealed that he could be open to managing Ghana’s Black Stars in the future once his current contract with the Eagles comes to an end.
Saintfeit, who previously coached The Gambia, has been linked with the Black Stars job in the past and was among the candidates considered before Otto Addo’s reappointment.
Speaking on Adom TV’s Fire for Fire, the Belgian trainer clarified that his immediate focus remains on Mali but admitted he would be interested in the Ghana role if the opportunity arises.
“Otto Addo has a contract till 2027. My contract ends at August 2026. It could be the next one. It doesn’t mean tomorrow, it can be the next year or two. The moment I’m available and my contract with Mali has ended then I’m interested. For now my focus is on Mali,” Saintfeit said.
While stressing his commitment to Mali’s current projects, the experienced tactician left the door open for a potential switch to Ghana in the coming years.
