Sylvester Double Fires Basake Holy Stars Past Samatex in Commanding Home Win

Basake Holy Stars maintained their upward momentum in the Ghana Premier League after producing a dominant display to defeat FC Samatex 2–0 at the AAK II Sports Arena on matchday 14.

Buoyed by recent positive results, including a memorable triumph over Asante Kotoko and a resilient draw against league leaders Aduana Stars, the home side carried their confidence into the encounter and quickly imposed themselves on the game.

Simba Sylvester emerged as the difference-maker, delivering a clinical first-half brace that put Holy Stars in complete control. His opening goal eased early tension, and he struck again before the interval to punish Samatex for allowing sustained pressure in their defensive third.

Samatex attempted to regroup after the break, but they found little joy against a well-drilled Holy Stars unit that controlled the tempo and limited clear scoring chances.

With three wins in their last five outings and only one defeat in that run, the performance served as another strong statement of intent as the campaign gathers pace.
