Former Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari has voiced frustration over the management of the national team, recalling instances of neglect and poor decision-making during his playing days.

Muntari claims that former handlers of the Black Stars failed to prioritize players’ well-being, often disregarding advice and suggestions from the players themselves.

“The handlers of the Black Stars keep on mismanaging the team. Because they are older than the players they don’t take our advice and suggestions.” He said.

“We endured injury after injury, yet nobody seemed to care,” Muntari said, describing the conditions under which the team trained. He recounted a specific incident in South Africa during a World Cup qualifier against Zambia, where players were made to practice on a hard pitch where horses could be seen walking.

“I broke my knee, and nobody cared. The same could be said of Michael [Essien] and many other players,” he added.

Muntari also urged for improved support and consideration for the current Black Stars squad emphasizing that player welfare should be a top priority.

“I hope this current administration are doing better, if not then they aren’t doing a good job.” He concluded.
