Otto Addo reveals reason for leaving out Thomas Partey

Black Stars Head Coach Otto Addo has explained the exclusion of Thomas Partey from the squad to face Angola and Niger.

Partey, who missed out on Ghana’s two previous crucial games due to injury was excluded while being fit.

According to Otto Addo, Partey wanted to come but he took the decision not to include him after the two had a confidential talk.

“I had a confidential talk with Thomas. I am the coach who always wants to protect the players,” Addo told the media.

“The whole point for me was getting the understanding. I am not going to tell you the internal issues, but I made it quite clear to him; he wanted to come, but I made it quite clear why he’s not coming.”

“Like I said, it is confidential, so it’s difficult for me to mention all the things, so maybe we have to move on,” he added.

Ghana will face Angola on 15th November 2024 at the  Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda before playing the final game against Niger at the Accra sports stadium on 18th November.
