Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has delivered a stirring message to Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, urging them to embrace belief, discipline, and trust as they gear up for the 2025 TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

With just days to go before the tournament kicks off on April 27, Addo addressed the squad in Accra, expressing his confidence in their potential to make a strong impression on the continental stage.

“Everybody’s looking up to you to give everything. I know that you have what it takes to beat every team,” Addo said, reinforcing his trust in the team’s talent and preparation.

Drawn into a challenging Group C, Ghana will face reigning champions Senegal, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Central African Republic. Despite the formidable opposition, Addo emphasized that the team’s mindset will be crucial to success.

“You have a good staff around you, a good coach. So, anything is possible. You have to believe in yourself. We’ll pray for you, and I know you’ll do it,” he encouraged, referencing the technical team led by head coach Desmond Ofei.

“I know it’s going to be tough. Everyone knows it’s not easy. You have tough opponents, but believe in yourself, listen to your coaches, and then you’ll fulfill everything,” he added.

Ghana’s U-20 team is chasing a fifth continental crown, having previously won the tournament in 1993, 1999, 2009, and 2021. With a blend of returning talents and fresh faces, the team is aiming to go the distance once again and secure qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The tournament, which runs until May 18, offers another opportunity for Ghana’s emerging stars to etch their names into the history books—this time, with the backing of one of Ghana’s most respected football figures.
