Otto Addo is not the right man- Osei Kweku Palmer
Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee member, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer, has expressed doubts about the capabilities of Black Stars coach Otto Addo, following recent performances by the national team.
Palmer’s comments come in the wake of the Black Stars’ disappointing performances in key matches. Otto Addo failed to qualify Ghana to the 2025 AFCON for the first time in 20 years. He failed to win a game in the AFCON qualifiers.
“If you look at the results that Otto Addo is producing, is he the right man?” Palmer questioned during a recent interview with Asempa FM.
He drew comparisons to former Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah, who faced criticism during his tenure but recently managed notable successes.
“We said Kwasi Appiah was not a good coach, but he beat us in Libya. I knew the Black Stars were going to lose” Palmer remarked, highlighting what he sees as a lack of improvement under Addo’s leadership.
Ghana will play their next games in March 2025 against Chad and Madagascar for the World Cup qualifiers.
