Otto Addo Cautions Against Speculation on Foreign-Born Players
Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged caution in public discussions about potential additions to the national team, especially foreign-born players who are yet to officially commit to representing Ghana.
Speaking during a press briefing ahead of Ghana’s Unity Cup semifinal clash with Nigeria in London, Addo was asked about the possibility of new dual nationals joining the Black Stars. However, he made it clear that such conversations are premature unless the players have already been invited.
“To be honest, it’s very difficult to lead a discussion now about players which are not invited. And I always kept it like that. It’s very, very difficult, because there are so many,” Addo stated. “We have, let’s say, I don’t know, 400 players in Europe, playing, also in England, which we could have brought.”
The coach emphasized the importance of focusing on the current squad rather than speculating about players who may or may not eventually join the team.
