Head coach of Nations FC, Kasim Ocansey Mingle, has stated that his side is determined to secure a crucial win when they face relegation-threatened Legon Cities in their Ghana Premier League matchday 31 fixture on Monday.

With just four games left in the 2024/25 campaign, Nations FC currently sit at the top of the table with 54 points, leading the title race in a season that has seen multiple shifts at the summit.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Coach Mingle acknowledged the difficult task that lies ahead, particularly given Legon Cities’ precarious position in the relegation zone. He emphasized the need for focus and execution as his team eyes a first-ever top-flight title.

“Legon Cities will approach this match like wounded lions. They have nothing to lose and playing with them is a bit difficult,” Mingle told the media.

“We will go in and do our best to get our maximum points. At this stage of the league, every point is important, and we will do everything possible to win.”

Legon Cities, currently 17th on the table with just 25 points from 30 matches, are in desperate need of a win to boost their survival hopes.

Nations FC, on the other hand, will be aiming to maintain their narrow lead at the top with rivals Asante Kotoko and Bibiani GoldStars also within striking distance.

With the title race heating up and the relegation battle intensifying, Monday’s encounter promises to be a high-stakes fixture with implications at both ends of the table.
