The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has settled all outstanding salary arrears owed to Black Stars head coach Otto Addo and his technical team, bringing closure to months of unpaid wages despite active service.

Coach Otto Addo, who was appointed in 2024, had gone without payment since October of that year, even though he led the senior national team through critical international fixtures during the period.

Between September 5 and November 18, 2025, Addo and his team were at the helm as Ghana played six matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, a campaign which ultimately ended in disappointment. The technical team also supervised a strong start to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March, recording a 5-0 victory over Chad and a 3-0 triumph over Madagascar.

After months of administrative delays, the Ministry has now made full payments to the coaching staff. Head coach Otto Addo received a total of $420,000, covering salaries and other contractual entitlements.

Assistant coaches Joseph Laumann and John Paintsil were also compensated, receiving $75,000 and $64,864 respectively. Goalkeeper trainer Abdul Fatawu Dauda, who left a role with the Sudan national team to join Addo’s staff, received $19,459.

With the arrears now cleared, the coaching team is expected to continue preparations for upcoming international assignments with a renewed sense of stability and focus.
