Ghana Premier League outfit Medeama SC have officially confirmed plans to travel to Côte d’Ivoire for their preseason preparations ahead of the 2025/26 football season.

The 2023 Ghanaian champions endured a challenging campaign last season, finishing eighth on the league table after recording 15 wins, 5 draws, and 14 defeats—an outcome deemed disappointing for a club of their stature.

In an effort to bounce back stronger, Medeama SC announced that the team will depart Ghana on August 1 for Abidjan, where they will spend several weeks fine-tuning their squad. The preseason tour will feature a series of high-intensity training sessions and top-level friendly matches aimed at ensuring the team is fully prepared and cohesive before the new season kicks off.

The club’s decision to train outside Ghana underscores their determination to correct last season’s shortcomings and return to title contention.

Head coach Ibrahim Tanko, who is leading the team’s revival, has already made it clear that their goal is to win the Ghana Premier League next season. The players are expected to report from break next week to begin local preparations before the journey to Abidjan.

Medeama SC’s preseason move is part of a broader effort to reestablish the club’s competitive edge both domestically and potentially in continental competitions.
