Maxwell Konadu has officially been appointed as the new head coach of Bibiani GoldStars, signing a two-year contract with the reigning Ghana Premier League champions.

The experienced trainer’s appointment comes as part of the club’s rebuilding efforts following their early exit from the CAF Champions League. GoldStars have been without a permanent manager since the dismissal of Frimpong Manso, who was relieved of his duties after a 2-0 defeat to JS Kabylie in the first leg of the preliminary round at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Konadu, who signed a deal running through 2027, has been tasked with leading the club’s title defence and restoring their competitive edge in Africa.

The former Asante Kotoko and Assistant Black Stars Coach brings a wealth of experience to Bibiani, having also managed the Black Meteors and Black Leopards of South Africa. His appointment has been met with optimism among fans and management, who view him as the ideal figure to steady the team’s course.

Konadu is expected to make his debut on the touchline when GoldStars face Asante Kotoko in a rescheduled Ghana Premier League encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

His arrival marks a new chapter for the champions, as they look to bounce back strongly both domestically and on the continental front.
