Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prince Owusu, has dismissed any fears ahead of his side’s upcoming Ghana Premier League encounter with FC Samartex, insisting his team is fully prepared for the challenge.

The Week 28 fixture, scheduled for Monday, April 6, is expected to be a fiercely contested affair, with both sides eager to strengthen their positions in the Ghana Premier League standings.

Kotoko head into the clash with a mixed run of form, having recorded two wins, two draws, and one defeat in their last five matches. Despite the inconsistency, Owusu believes his team possesses the resilience and fighting spirit required to overcome their opponents.

“Yeah. We also have the same thing as well. If you watch our games get to the end, the fight that we put in since we started the league, it’s been that way for us. So we are not scared about that issue. But you know, it’s a match that we respect them as a team and I know they respect us as well,” he said.

While acknowledging Samartex’s qualities, the Kotoko coach emphasized mutual respect between both teams, noting that his players are ready to match their opponents physically and tactically.

Samartex, on the other hand, arrive in Kumasi searching for form, having struggled in recent matches with a string of draws and defeats. They will be aiming to turn things around against one of the league’s traditional powerhouses.

With home advantage on their side, Asante Kotoko will be determined to deliver a strong performance and build momentum as the season enters a decisive phase.
