Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, has announced that members of the Black Stars Management Committee will be rewarded financially following the team’s successful qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The committee’s allowances had previously been put on hold, with assurances that payments would only be made upon qualification for the global tournament. That condition has now been fulfilled after Ghana’s narrow but decisive 1–0 win over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, sealed by a Mohammed Kudus strike in the 47th minute.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Minister Adams confirmed that the Management Committee members will be compensated from the funds Ghana is set to receive from FIFA as part of the qualification package.

“When you qualify, you will earn money from FIFA, which you can pay the Management Committee members out of that, which will not be a burden on the government,” he explained.

He further praised the committee for their commitment and hard work throughout the qualifying campaign, expressing confidence that their efforts would be justly recognized.

“I believe the Management Committee members have done very well, and I know they will be rewarded,” Adams added.

Beyond the financial rewards, the Minister revealed that discussions are underway to review and possibly streamline the management structure overseeing Ghana’s national teams.

“Elsewhere, it is only one Management Committee for national teams, but going into the future, I believe that we can exploit that so that we will have one Management Committee for the various national teams,” he noted.

The current Black Stars Management Committee, led by Dr. Randy Abbey as chairman, includes former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah as vice-chairman, alongside Samuel Aboabire, Moses Armah, and Dr. Richard Nsenkyire.

With Ghana’s place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup now secured, attention turns to the group-stage draw scheduled for December 5, 2025, in Washington, D.C., where the Black Stars will learn their opponents for the global showpiece.
