Interim head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has expressed his satisfaction with the steady progress of the team since taking over managerial duties in April 2025.

The veteran tactician stepped into the role following the departure of Prosper Narteh Ogum, who parted ways with the Porcupine Warriors after a difficult spell that saw the club go four matches without a win in the Ghana Premier League.

Since assuming the reins, Zito has overseen a remarkable turnaround. Under his guidance, Kotoko have gone unbeaten in their last three league games, winning all of them convincingly, including a resounding 4-1 win over Dreams FC on Sunday.

“There has been a lot of improvements. I’ve seen a lot of improvement. They give me their listening ear. Anytime I talk to them they listen. They are grownups, some with wives and children so that is where the management criteria comes in. You don’t have to be shouting all the time,” Coach Zito said during his post-match remarks.

“Seriously, they enjoy training with me. I’m like their father. We all joke, but I’ve been advising them,” he added.

Asante Kotoko are now firmly back in contention and will look to build on their momentum when they face Bibiani Gold Stars in their Week 32 clash of the Ghana Premier League.
