Head coach of Karela United, Nurudeen Amadu, has challenged his players to step up their performances following their 4-2 defeat to Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The Passion Boys were outclassed by the Porcupine Warriors in their Matchday 8 fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where Kotoko dominated large spells of the encounter to secure a convincing win.

Speaking after the game, Amadu  who famously led FC Samartex to their first-ever Premier League title  admitted his side struggled to cope with Kotoko’s intensity and paid the price for a poor start.

“We started the match slowly and conceded quick goals which were unpardonable. Congratulations to Kotoko because they were the better side, but we need to work hard as a team,” Amadu said.

The defeat leaves Karela United in seventh place with 12 points after eight matches, while Asante Kotoko sit eighth with 11 points, having played three games fewer due to their participation in continental competition.

Coach Amadu has now turned his attention to helping his side bounce back in their next fixture, emphasizing the need for better concentration and teamwork if they are to stay competitive in the league.
