Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has expressed delight with the state-of-the-art facilities at his new club Atalanta BC, following the completion of his transfer from English side Southampton.

The Black Stars forward sealed his move to the Serie A outfit on Wednesday, July 2, signing a long-term deal that signals a fresh chapter in his career after stints in Denmark, France, and England.

Speaking in his first interview with Atalanta’s media team, Kamaldeen shared his excitement after being taken on a tour of the club’s training complex in Zingonia.

“I just had a tour at the training centre and I can say it’s a big facility, a lot of stuff to do here and I can’t wait to get started,” he said.

“I’m very happy to start my new adventure here. So far, I like everything I see. I will give all my best to the club.”

The 23-year-old arrives from Southampton FC, where he joined in January 2023. Despite showing flashes of brilliance in the Premier League, his time with the Saints was hindered by injuries. He made 34 league appearances and scored five goals.

Atalanta secured his services in a deal worth €17.5 million, with potential add-ons of €4 million, and a 15% sell-on clause included for Southampton. His signing is part of Atalanta’s broader strategy to reinforce their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, where they will compete in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League.

Having previously played for FC Nordsjælland in Denmark and Stade Rennais in France, Kamaldeen brings a wealth of European experience to La Dea.
