Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil has been honoured as Los Angeles Galaxy’s Top Scorer for the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) season at the club’s annual end-of-year awards ceremony.

The recognition comes after what was a challenging campaign for the Galaxy, who failed to defend their MLS crown and missed out on a playoff spot.

The 26-year-old Black Stars winger recorded an impressive 12 goal involvements in the regular season, including 10 league goals — the highest by any Galaxy player this year. His standout moment came when he netted a first-half hat-trick against Sporting Kansas City, becoming only the third player in LA Galaxy’s history, after Alejandro Moreno and Robbie Keane, to achieve that feat.

The Galaxy endured a disappointing campaign, finishing 14th in the Western Conference with 30 points, marking one of their poorest seasons in recent memory.

Paintsil, who also found the net once in the Concacaf Champions League, will now return home to Ghana during the off-season before rejoining the team for pre-season preparations ahead of the 2026 MLS campaign.
