Jordan Ayew Reveals Team’s Mindset Behind Win Over CAR
Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has shared insights into the team’s focused mentality that inspired Ghana’s dominant 5–0 victory over the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Wednesday.
Ayew, who scored in the convincing win, emphasized that the squad’s unity and discipline were key to their outstanding performance, describing it as a vital step toward securing Ghana’s place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking in an interview with Kobby Stonne on Sports Page 2 on Adom FM, Ayew explained that the players approached the crucial fixture with a clear objective and collective determination to secure all three points.
“We knew that when we win today, it will be a big, big step, and obviously everyone was committed to the task. So we didn’t think too much — we just wanted to win the game, and that is what happened,” the Leicester City forward said.
The result keeps Ghana at the summit of Group I, with momentum firmly on their side ahead of their next qualifier against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
