Jordan Ayew on Target as Leicester City Hold Middlesbrough to a Draw
Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew found the back of the net for the second time this season to help Leicester City earn a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough in the English Championship on Tuesday night.
The experienced attacker, who captained the Foxes, coolly converted a penalty on the stroke of halftime to give Leicester a deserved lead after a strong opening display at the King Power Stadium.
Ayew’s composed finish brought relief to Leicester fans following the team’s recent struggles, ending a run of two consecutive league defeats.
However, Leicester’s hopes of returning to winning ways were dashed in stoppage time when Luke Ayling struck a dramatic equalizer for Middlesbrough to snatch a valuable point for the visitors.
Despite the late setback, Ayew’s performance stood out, as he worked tirelessly across the front line, linking up effectively with his compatriot Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who impressed once again before being substituted in the 85th minute for Stephy Mavididi.
