It’s difficult to take youth players to long camps due to their student status – Coach Nana Adarkwa
Head Coach of the Black Maidens and Epiphany Warriors, Nana Adarkwa, has pointed out a significant challenge affecting youth football development in Ghana — the academic commitments of most players.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s SportsNite, Coach Adarkwa explained that it is difficult to organize long-term training camps for youth players due to their student status.
“The problem in Ghana youth footballers is because they are students, so it’s difficult to take them to long camping,” he said.
Adarkwa further highlighted that this issue impacts team cohesion, tactical discipline, and overall preparation for major tournaments.
His comments stress the importance of finding a better balance between education and football development to improve the future of youth football in Ghana.
