“I’m happy to have scored a hat-trick”- Doris Boaduwaa
Ghana striker Doris Boaduwaa delivered a masterclass performance at the Accra Sports Stadium, netting a sensational hat-trick to inspire the Black Queens to a commanding 4-0 victory over Egypt in the second leg of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.
Comfort Yeboah also got on the scoresheet with a superb strike, sealing a flawless evening for Ghana.
The emphatic win completed a 7-0 aggregate triumph following the Black Queens’ 3-0 first-leg victory in Cairo, confirming their qualification for the upcoming WAFCON in Morocco.
Speaking after the game, a beaming Boaduwaa expressed her delight and pride in helping her nation reach another major tournament.
“I’m happy to have scored a hat-trick. What I couldn’t do at the WAFCON, hopefully, I’ve settled it in these two games. WAFCON again, so watch out,” she said.
Her words captured a renewed sense of determination and ambition as Ghana turns its attention to next year’s continental showpiece.
Boaduwaa’s outstanding display — full of pace, precision, and composure — highlighted her growing influence in the team under coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, who has praised her consistency throughout the qualification campaign.
