Head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko, has called for concentration and discipline from his players ahead of their upcoming Ghana Premier League fixture against Hohoe United.

League leaders Medeama will host Hohoe United at the TnA Stadium on Sunday as they aim to strengthen their position at the top of the Ghana Premier League table.

Speaking ahead of the match, Tanko praised the commitment of his players and reflected on the team’s recent away performances, stressing that while the result is important, the approach to the game will be key.

“Very very committed. I mean and when you look at even the two away games we play normally if it is first around people will say we did very well because these are tough games we play in away and we didn’t lose. So definitely against Hohoe I cannot say it’s must win. We have to get our three points at home. But we are not going just like we just have to win,” Tanko said on Medi TV.

The Medeama boss also warned his side not to underestimate their opponents, pointing to Hohoe United’s recent results as evidence that they could pose a challenge.

“We have to control the game. We have to also be careful because they drew in Dormaa and then win their home game. So definitely they are coming with confidence. But I think our boys are very ready and they know what is at stake. So definitely we will prepare very well against Hohoe United,” he told Medi TV.

Hohoe United head into the encounter hoping to improve their standing on the league table. The side has managed two wins in their last five matches and will be looking to continue that progress as they fight to distance themselves from the relegation zone.

Sunday’s clash at the TnA Stadium is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 pm, with Medeama seeking another positive result to maintain their lead at the summit of the league standings.
