Ibrahim Osman Provides Early Assist as Birmingham City Edge QPR

Ibrahim Osman played a key role in Birmingham City F.C.’s narrow 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers F.C. in their English Championship encounter at St Andrew’s Stadium.

The Ghanaian winger wasted little time in making an impact, producing a moment of quality just six minutes into the contest. Cutting in from the left flank, Osman threaded a precise pass into the penalty area for Patrick Roberts, who calmly slotted home to give the hosts an early advantage.

Osman continued to pose problems for the visitors with his pace and movement down the wing, consistently stretching the QPR defence and helping Birmingham maintain an attacking threat. After an industrious performance, the 21-year-old was eventually replaced midway through the second half by Demarai Gray.

Despite the slender scoreline, Birmingham were the more dangerous side for much of the match. The home team registered 21 shots and fashioned several clear openings while limiting QPR largely to speculative efforts from distance as they protected their early lead.

The assist marks another positive contribution for Osman in the 2025/26 Championship campaign, where he has now featured in 21 league matches, scoring once and providing one assist.

The result also ends a challenging run of form for Birmingham, offering a timely boost ahead of their upcoming fixture against Sheffield United F.C. at St Andrew’s on Saturday, March 14, as the club looks to gather momentum during the closing phase of the season.
