Henry Harding Calls for Improved Pitches and Enhanced Security in Ghanaian Football
Veteran Ghanaian actor and passionate football enthusiast Henry Harding, widely recognized as Pattington Papa Nii Papafio, has voiced his concerns about the state of football infrastructure and security in the country.
Harding’s comments reflect widespread concerns about the state of football in Ghana, with many stakeholders calling for significant reforms to restore the sport’s integrity and ensure the safety of all participants.
Speaking candidly about the challenges facing Ghanaian football, Harding highlighted the poor condition of pitches and the potential hazards they pose to players.
“There are so many pitches in Ghana that are not even fit for children to just play on,” he lamented. “The pitches are not good for footballers, and they easily get injured.” He said on Asempa FM.
In addition to the issue of substandard pitches, Harding underscored the urgent need for improved security at match venues. He suggested that awareness campaigns and the involvement of the military could help create a safer environment for players and fans alike.
“On security, everyone needs to be sensitized,” he said. “We need to introduce the military to our venues sometimes.”
The veteran actor’s remarks add to the growing chorus of voices advocating for better infrastructure and security in Ghanaian football.
