Communications Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo, has admitted that the team’s players were left disappointed after being held to a 2-2 draw by Bibiani Gold Stars in their Matchday 7 clash of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians put up an impressive fight at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday but were unable to secure all three points despite dominating large portions of the game. Goals from Mawuli Wayo and George Paaku ensured Hearts shared the spoils after Kumi Attah’s brace gave the Timber Boys the lead twice.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, Opare Addo described the result as both a lesson and a motivation for the team, acknowledging the players’ frustration at not turning their efforts into victory.

“Drawing with Bibiani Gold Stars was a stepping stone for us to bounce back even stronger, although the players are not happy with the outcome of the game,” he said.

The result sees Hearts of Oak sit 6th on the league log with 13 points after seven matches. Despite the disappointment, Opare Addo expressed optimism that the team would continue to grow stronger and maintain consistency as the season progresses.

The Phobians will next travel to face Basake Holy Stars in their Matchday 8 encounter this weekend, as they seek to extend their unbeaten run and climb further up the league standings.
