GPL: Bashiru Hayford heaps praises on Kwadwo Obeng Junior

Head Coach for Heart of Lions, Bashiru Hayford has described forward Kwadwo Obeng Junior as an experienced player.

Kwadwo Obeng Junior scored the lone goal in the week 9 fixture between Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions at Obuasi.

The former Hearts of Oak forward’s goal came in the 28th minute after Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara poorly cleared a ball in the way of the winger to give Lions their first away win.

Speaking to the media after the game, gaffer for the Kpando based side has revealed how important Obeng Jnr is to the side.

“That is what we call experience. You know experience always counts. When he got the ball he was not panicking; he saw that the goalkeeper was out of his post so he had to do the needful. He did exactly that because of experience. If it were to be any young player, we would be panicking and maybe he will kick the ball away.” He said.

The goal is Obeng Junior’s first goal of the season which ascends his outfit to the  sixth position on the league table with 14 points.
