Golden Kick FC head coach Fiifi Parker Hanson says his side will not be overwhelmed by the occasion when they face Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in the final of the 2024 MTN FA Cup this Sunday.

The much-anticipated showdown will take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 17:00 GMT. While Kotoko enter the clash as clear favourites due to their pedigree and top-flight status, Golden Kick have earned respect as giant-slayers after eliminating Ghana Premier League sides Karela United and Hearts of Oak en route to the final.

Speaking to Sporty FM in the build-up to the match, Coach Parker Hanson downplayed the perceived pressure of facing one of Ghana’s most decorated clubs.

“Playing against Asante Kotoko in the MTN FA Cup final is not the biggest game we have played because we have already played Hearts of Oak,” he said.

Golden Kick’s fearless run has turned them into one of the most talked-about teams in the competition, and Hanson is banking on his players’ belief and resilience to produce another upset on Sunday.

The winner of the final will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup, adding extra significance to the clash beyond national glory.
