Gold Stars Cut Title Gap with Dominant Bibiani Display
Bibiani Gold Stars sent a strong signal in the Ghana Premier League title race after recording an emphatic 3-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars at Dun’s Park on Sunday.
The home side took control early, with Razack Sanou breaking the deadlock in the 16th minute before Arthur Justice added a second just six minutes later to put Gold Stars in complete command. Kumi Attah put the result beyond doubt in the 70th minute, capping a clinical and composed performance.
The victory trims the gap at the top of the table to five points following Medeama SC’s draw with Aduana FC, and further cements Gold Stars’ status as genuine title contenders as the season enters a decisive phase.
Basake Holy Stars struggled to match the intensity and attacking fluidity of their hosts and were unable to build on their recent positive result against Berekum Chelsea. The loss leaves them still looking over their shoulders in the relegation battle.
Gold Stars will now turn their attention to a tricky away fixture against Heart of Lions, aiming to keep the pressure on the league leaders, while Basake Holy Stars prepare for a crucial home clash with Swedru All Blacks in their fight for survival.
