GOC Engages Kofi Adams on Ghana’s Preparation for Upcoming International Games

The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has held a productive meeting with the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, to deliberate on Ghana’s readiness and participation in major upcoming international competitions.

The discussions, which took place in Accra, centered on the country’s plans for the Africa Youth Games in Angola, the Youth Olympic Games in Senegal, and the Commonwealth Games in Scotland.

Hon. Kofi Adams reaffirmed government’s unwavering commitment to supporting Team Ghana’s preparation and participation in these events. He emphasized the need for early planning and adequate resource allocation to ensure Ghana delivers impressive performances on the global stage.

The GOC leadership, led by its President, took the opportunity to present to the Minister the medals won by Team Ghana at the recently concluded ANOCA Zone III Games in Burkina Faso, where the country secured an impressive 10 medals — including one gold, four silver, and five bronze.

The presentation symbolized Ghana’s growing competitiveness in regional competitions and served as motivation for greater investment in youth development and elite athlete preparation.

Hon. Kofi Adams congratulated the athletes and officials for their efforts, urging them to maintain their focus and discipline ahead of the upcoming international games.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of collaboration between the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and the Ghana Olympic Committee, both expressing confidence that Ghana will continue to make strides in international sports.
