Ghana’s U-16 girls capped off their impressive UEFA U-16 Development Tournament campaign in Malta with a commanding 7-1 triumph over Latvia on Sunday.

The Black Damsels put on a brilliant attacking display, overwhelming their opponents from start to finish.

Seidatu Wahab wasted no time setting the tone, breaking the deadlock with a composed finish before capitalizing on a defensive lapse to double Ghana’s lead. Daniella Abass added a third goal before halftime, giving Ghana a comfortable 3-0 advantage going into the break.

The second half saw more relentless attacking play from the young Ghanaian side. Christiana Ashiaku struck twice in quick succession to extend the lead to 5-0, while Wahab completed her hat-trick with another clinical effort. Mavis Koah then put the icing on the cake with Ghana’s seventh goal.

Latvia managed a late consolation, but Ghana’s defense held firm to secure a dominant win, marking a fitting end to their tournament campaign.

The Black Damsels finished the competition in style, scoring an impressive 20 goals while conceding just twice.
