Ghana Athletics and National Sports College Launch Basic Coaching Course in Winneba

Ghana Athletics, in collaboration with the National Sports College, officially inaugurated the Basic Coaching Course in Winneba.

The opening ceremony marked the commencement of a five-day intensive program aimed at equipping participants with foundational coaching skills.

The initiative is a preparatory step for the World Athletics (WA) Level I Coaching Course slated for later in 2025. By providing essential training and knowledge, this course serves as a stepping stone for participants aspiring to achieve advanced certification in athletics coaching.

Held at the National Sports College, the course will delve deep into sprinting, middle-distance running, jumping, and throwing events. Participants will learn about proper warm-up and cool-down techniques, injury prevention, and nutrition.

The five-day course is expected to lay a solid foundation for future advancements in the field of athletics coaching in the country.
