The Ghana Football Association has officially ended its relationship with Otto Addo as head coach of the Black Stars, bringing his tenure to an abrupt close.

The decision, which takes immediate effect, follows Ghana’s disappointing performances in their recent international friendlies against Austria and Germany during the March window.

In an official statement, the Association confirmed the development while expressing appreciation for the coach’s efforts during his time in charge.

“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with the Head Coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), Otto Addo, effective immediately,” the statement read.

“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours.

“The Ghana Football Association will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course.”

Addo, who previously served as an assistant coach at Borussia Dortmund, departs at a crucial moment as Ghana continues preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

His exit signals another shift in the Black Stars’ technical setup, with the GFA now expected to outline a new coaching structure in the coming weeks as attention turns to rebuilding momentum ahead of the global tournament.
