Former Hearts of Oak forward Kofi Kordzi has secured a transfer move to Ethiopian Premier League side Mekelle 70 Enderta FC, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm
The 29-year-old has signed a one-year renewable contract with the newly-promoted club after passing his medical examination on Thursday afternoon.
Kordzi moves to Eastern African country on a free transfer after departing Libya, where he played for Al-Tahadi Benghazi. He joined Al-Tahadi in September 2023.
Kordzi was recruited by the Libyan club following his departure from Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities FC after just one season. He scored five goals in 26 games for Cities.
The bulky footballer returned to Ghana in August 2021 to rejoin Hearts after a season’s spell at Qatari Second Division side Muaither SC.
Kordzi was in decent form for the Phobians with 14 goals in 42 appearances, which earned him the transfer to Qatar in October 2022.
He was a member of the Ghana team that competed in the 2022 CHAN tournament in Algeria.
Kordzi is the second Ghanaian player to sign for Mekelle this transfer window after former Asante Kotoko defender Sherif Mohammed.
