Chief Executive Officer of Hasaacas Ladies, Evelyn Nsiah Asare Owusu, has appealed to the Ministry of Youth and Sports to prioritize infrastructure development for women’s football in Ghana, emphasizing that the sport has now become a legitimate career path for many young girls.

Evelyn Nsiah Asare Owusu’s comments come at a time when women’s football in Ghana is seeing growing interest and participation, both at the grassroots and elite levels. However, inadequate facilities remain a major hindrance to the full realization of the sport’s potential.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Sportsnite, the renowned football administrator and advocate for women’s empowerment in sports expressed concern over the continued infrastructural challenges confronting the women’s game.

“Women’s football has become a career path for our young girls, but we lack the necessary infrastructure. That’s why we’re calling on the Sports Minister to come to our aid,” she stated.

Nsiah Asare Owusu emphasized that while clubs are doing their best to support young players, government intervention is crucial to achieving lasting progress.

Her call adds to a growing chorus from stakeholders in women’s football urging policy makers to act decisively to transform the landscape of the women’s game in Ghana.
