Basake Holy Stars head coach Evans Adotey has revealed that he is considering leaving his post after Sunday’s Ghana Premier League encounter against Hearts of Oak.

Adotey, who joined Holy Stars on a three-year contract earlier this year, replaced Abdulai Gazale, who departed in June to take up the assistant coaching role at Hearts of Oak.

The veteran tactician has endured a difficult start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, with Holy Stars yet to record a win after six matches, managing two draws and four defeats.

The experienced trainer made the revelation in an interview on Asempa FM, indicating that while his decision is not yet final, discussions regarding his future will conclude after the weekend fixture.

“I have made up my mind to leave Basake Holy Stars after the Hearts of Oak game, but the final decision will be made on Sunday. However, I will do my best to beat Hearts of Oak on Sunday,” Adotey stated.

Despite the club’s struggles, Adotey remains determined to lead his side to a positive result against Gazale’s new club before any final decision on his future is taken.

Basake Holy Stars will host Hearts of Oak at the AAK Sports Arena in Ampain on Sunday, in what could be Adotey’s final game in charge of the club.
