Didi Dramani Backs Hearts of Oak to Resolve FIFA Ban as Club Awaits Transfer Relief
Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani remains optimistic that the club’s transfer embargo will soon be brought to an end, despite the restrictions currently limiting squad strengthening.
The Phobians are unable to register or offload players after failing to settle outstanding salary obligations owed to former technical director Rene Hiddink. The Dutch trainer, who was appointed in 2023 but exited the club after eight months, reported the matter to FIFA, citing the wrongful termination of his contract.
World football’s governing body subsequently ruled in Hiddink’s favour, instructing Hearts of Oak to pay $150,000 within a 90-day window. The club’s failure to meet the deadline triggered a transfer ban spanning the next three windows, leaving the technical team with limited options in the market.
Addressing the situation in an interview with Asempa FM, Dramani admitted the sanctions present a challenge but stressed that his primary focus remains on on-field performance while club management works to resolve the off-field issues.
“My work is on the pitch while the hierarchy of the club is dealing with external issues, but then I hope the transfer ban will be resolved so I can bring in players who can help strengthen the team,” he said.
As Hearts of Oak continue their campaign under these constraints, Dramani and his players will be hoping for a swift resolution that allows the club to reinforce the squad and compete more effectively in the months ahead.
