Denis Odoi Joins NAC Breda on Short-Term Deal to Bolster Defensive Options
Ghanaian defender Denis Odoi has sealed a move to Dutch Eredivisie outfit NAC Breda, joining the club on a free transfer for the remainder of the season, with an option to extend his stay by an additional year.
The veteran full-back links up once again with compatriot Kamal Sowah, rekindling a partnership that last featured prominently during Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup journey in Qatar. Breda confirmed the acquisition through an official announcement, describing Odoi as a timely addition to a squad currently hampered by defensive injuries.
The club highlighted that his adaptability across the backline, coupled with his leadership and wealth of top-level experience, made him an ideal fit for their immediate needs.
Odoi arrives with an extensive résumé across European football. He previously represented Club Brugge and Royal Antwerp in Belgium, enjoyed a long spell in England with Fulham, and also turned out for KSC Lokeren, Sint-Truiden and OH Leuven. His early development came through the academies of Anderlecht, Genk and OH Leuven.
At 37, the defender is expected to step straight into Breda’s plans as they look to strengthen their backline and improve their form heading into the second half of the campaign.
