Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has heaped praise on Ghanaian teammate Thomas Partey, crediting him for playing a vital role in his own outstanding form this season.

Rice, 26, has been a standout performer for the Gunners since joining from West Ham United, recording eight goals and ten assists across all competitions.

As Arsenal prepare for a decisive UEFA Champions League semi-final second-leg clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, the England international has acknowledged Partey’s influence in midfield.

Speaking in the build-up to the match, Rice highlighted the calmness and balance Partey brings to the team, which allows him more freedom on the pitch.

“The best thing about playing with Thomas [Partey] is the calmness he brings to play with the team,” Rice told reporters. “Before I came to Arsenal, there was so much talk about how good he is. He doesn’t always get the recognition he deserves. I am quite lucky Thomas is there and he lets me roam up and down.”

Partey’s presence in the midfield has helped stabilize the team’s structure, enabling Rice to be more dynamic and effective in attack.

Both players are expected to feature in Wednesday night’s clash as Arsenal seek to book a spot in the final of the Champions League. With a slim lead from the first leg, their midfield partnership will be crucial in securing progress against a strong PSG side.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that the Partey-Rice duo continues to flourish, as the Gunners chase both domestic and European glory.
